Supercar driving experiences do not come more authentic than this. In dynamic terms the SV feels sharper and more agile than the standard Aventador, but that car was hardly lacking in dynamic ability itself. Equipped with the vast rear wing and contrasting styling elements the SV looks incredible on the road. Few cars have ever snapped the necks of onlookers quite so readily as this one. The single-clutch gearbox has been improved slightly for this installation, but the thinly padded bucket seats offer no lower back support and their long distance comfort is non-existent. The standard Aventador's grand tourer credentials have certainly been gnawed away, but the SV is just about as exciting and dramatic as supercars get. Then there’s gold heat reflection ‘sheathing’ for the intake and charge-air pipes to lower the air temperature, high-performance catalysts with 2.9in downpipes, a full stainless steel exhaust system custom built for this Brabus G63, ‘Coming Home’ and ‘Sport’ modes (the former presumably to prevent your dog’s ears from melting), and a specially calibrated ECU The result is bonkers 690bhp, 708lb ft of torque, and a 0-62mph time of 7.4 seconds. This, in a car weighing FOUR TONNES. Top speed is limited to, well, it doesn’t matter - if something gets in your way, just destroy it (100mph, since you asked). There’s a Brabus front spoiler. Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse in a bravado-laced statement, calling it the culmination of engineers’ efforts to “transfer all the achievements of the Super Sport over to the Grand Sport.” The resultant open-top missile packs 1200 hp, nearly 20 percent more than the Grand Sport convertible’s paltry sum of 1001; torque increases from 922 lb-ft to 1106 lb-ft, The chassis has been modified to support the power increase. Bugatti strengthens the Super Sport’s carbon-fiber tub, reinforces its seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox, and revises its suspension, tweaks we expect were made here, too. Given its lack of a smoothed-over fixed roof, however, the Vitesse likely won’t be able to reach the same 268 mph as the Super Sport (the extra-fast coupe is limited to 258 mph in production trim). Another significant change is the adoption of Mercedes-Benz's 7G-tronic seven-speed automatic transmission in place of the old NAG1 five-speed automatic used on the military version. The truck has a transfer case capable of channeling drive between a 0.87:1 high-range ratio for on-road driving and 2.16:1 low-range ratio for off-road conditions to all six wheels in a nominal 30:40:30 split. The power take-off for the rear-most axle is by way of an extra drive shaft.
